The B52’s Oracle Theater, San Francisco

I had the pleasure of styling Cindy Wilson's hair of the B52’s, in San Francisco at the Oracle Theater on July 17, 2014. Funny story. I arrived to The Cliff Hotel in San Francisco, so excited, and full of nerves. My heart pounding, with my professional hair and makeup kit in tow, I went up the elevator prepared to do her classic bee-hive style. Backcombing, teasing, tons of hairspray, I was born ready to do this. Both of us from Georgia, I had a feeling I would like her immediately. As I approached her penthouse suite, I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. All smiles, with that southern charm, she answered the door, warmly welcoming me in. Immediately, I was at ease. It’s in Southern people’s blood to make you feel right at home. Her beautiful golden hair was cut in a very short, chic bob. Wait what?!? She asked me if her agent had mentioned to me that she had cut all her hair off right before getting on the plane to California, and was just in need of a blow-dry and styling. Although I was kinda relieved, I was kinda disappointed too, as I wanted to build that Cindy B52s BeeHive! She sat down with wet hair, and as I styled it, we talked about Athens, Georgia and all the sweetness of living in the south. I will cherish this memory of meeting, styling, and getting to hang-out with this beautiful, talented woman.
