Hello Fall 2024! Time to bring out your cozy sweaters & boots, plus switch up your skincare. Layering and changes should not just be reserved for your wardrobe. Let’s get into the best-of the-best fall skincare secrets.
But why is switching up for fall necessary? With cooler outside temperatures, and the rise of temperatures inside, your skin takes a hard hit. Here are a few tips to keep you glowing all winter long.
Layer and cocktail. Add a serum under your moisturiser, or better yet, mix two of your favorites and then add your creme.
Add a humidifier to your room. This small change will add up big.
Lay off excess AHA’s, BHA’s and any extra exfoliation if you are really dry.
Switch to a cooler face rinse, rather than a hot one.
Add hyaluronic acid. Our bodies naturally produce it, but as we age, we lose it. This superhero ingredient works wonders. Plumping up the skin and improving its texture, leaving it looking smoother and more youthful, making any complexion look better in seconds. Well, what are you waiting for?
Skip your morning cleanse. Do a cool rinse or micellar water, or switch to a creamy cleanser or oil cleanse. Then add a hydrating toner, vitamin c and moisturizer if needed, and always sunscreen.
Switch to a thicker moisturizer if needed.
Drink more water, and eat more healthy fat. Foods like fatty fish, coconut oil/olive oil, avocados, flax seeds, and chia seeds and nuts. Omega-3’s are so great for your skin.
Up your Vitamin D. If you are deficient in D (which is a fat soluble vitamin) then skin can get dry.
Eat collagen rich foods. Bone broth, leafy greens, berries and collagen powders.
Avoid ingredients like refined carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, dried fruit) and dairy which cause inflammation, and thus dryness.
